Senior Project Manager - Client Side - Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering

Project will be Industrial / Manufacturing in nature particularly around tenant side procurement and fit-out of equipment with values from between $5M to $50M.

Our client is a boutique client-side project and construction management consultancy who provide independent and professional services for property, construction and infrastructure projects.  They are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join their innovative and client focused team in Sydney.

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of a Industrial / Manufacturing projects, particularly around tenant side procurement and fit-out of equipment with values from between $5M to $50M.

The candidate will likely be taking the project through detailed design, supporting value engineering, tender documents, advising and appointing consultants and contractors, project management and superintendent work on the project in delivery phase.

Candidates will ideally have 5 to 10 years’ experience in engineering or construction project management on contractor, supplier or client side with demonstrated experience in production, manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical or automation projects.

The company holds high value in the stakeholder management element of the job, the ability to communicate both verbally and written and client facing interactions coupled with a strong base technical knowledge base as well as design and the ability to administer contracts along with a “can do” attitude.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Client management and consultation
• Project Planning/Feasibility studies
• Risk Management
• Design Management and Value Engineering
• Procurement of construction services
• Delivery of construction services
• Cost control and cost reporting
• Commissioning and post contract duties for handover
• Oversight and delivery of the project

  
Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, mechatronics or process engineering,
• 5 to 10 years’ experience in engineering or construction project management on contractor, supplier or client side
• Experience in procurement and quality assurance including tenders, ITPs, FAT, SAT and commissioning coordination
• Experience in leading teams of consultants, contractors, and sub contractors in design, installation, and commissioning of complex equipment
• Strong negotiation skills
• Demonstrated experience in production, manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceutical or automation projects
• Experience in contract administration of consultant service agreements and Australian Standard contracts for design and construction.
• Experience in Operational Readiness management and/or Continuous Improvements measures in operating facilities.
• Experience and exposure to Enterprise Resource Planning platforms.
• Sound understanding of overall construction programmes and plans
• Able to identify key client and builder obligations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build rapport at all levels
• Advanced computer literacy
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
