Underground Manager - Gold

Our Client operates a fully operational gold mining project, featuring a state-of-the-art processing plant capable of handling over 1 million tonnes per annum and two high-grade underground mines. 

Located 700km east of Perth, the project has a current mineral resource of 4.5 million ounces, with significant potential for further expansion as many defined resources remain open along strike and at depth. 

Responsibilities: 

• Lead the safe and efficient operation of the underground gold mine, including non-processing infrastructure and haulage activities.
• Manage a small, site-based technical services team, setting clear objectives to ensure consistent delivery against mining commitments.
• Oversee key contractor and stakeholder relationships, including underground mining and haulage contractors, pastoral stakeholders, and local government authorities.
• Develop and implement performance optimization strategies to enhance operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
• Monitor overall mine performance to ensure budget and production targets are met.
• Work closely with the group Technical Services team on long-term planning, near-mine exploration, and resource geology initiatives.

Requirements for the position: 

• Possess a West Australian First Class Mine Manager Certificate (FCMMC).
• Completed or partially completed WHS risk management requirements.
• Extensive experience as an Underground Manager, with a proven track record across multiple narrow vein underground mining environments.
• Demonstrated success in achieving safety, production, and cost targets.
• Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to foster a positive, engaged team culture focused on safe and efficient production.
