Skilled trade technician needed to lead and perform service, repair, and certification of Building Maintenance Units (BMUs) and height safety systems, ensuring the highest standards in safety, quality, and compliance.
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Trade Technician to join their BMU Division in Sydney. This hands-on role involves servicing, maintaining, and certifying BMUs and height safety equipment across various client sites in compliance with Australian Standards and WorkSafe regulations.
You’ll take responsibility for job coordination, safe work procedures, quality assurance, and accurate reporting, while also supervising small teams and liaising with clients. Strong communication skills, leadership, and a proactive mindset are key in this diverse and rewarding position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Service, repair, and certify BMU and height safety systems
• Prepare and complete SWMS, permits, and reports
• Ensure compliance with OH&S, site protocols, and safety procedures
• Supervise and coordinate team activities on-site
• Liaise with clients and internal stakeholders
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Participate in continuous improvement and audit processes
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Relevant trade qualification and experience
• White Card (Construction Induction)
• Working Safely at Heights certification
• EWP Licence (SL/VL) and First Aid (Level 2) advantageous
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good communication and leadership ability
• Organised and capable of working independently and in teams
• Available for overtime and inclusion in on-call roster
Performance Expectations:
• Accurate job reporting and use of time-tracking systems (Deputy)
• Commitment to safety, quality, and team collaboration
• Professional appearance and adherence to company policies
• Punctual communication with management regarding job progress
