Senior Project Manager - Client Side - Retail & Industrial

Exciting opportunity with dynamic and growing team with a great track record. Candidates ideally will have experience on large format retail, Industrial projects or other commercial new build projects. Will be running projects through the full project life cycle from inception to completion.

Our client is a boutique client side project and construction management consultancy who provide independent and professional services for property and construction projects.  They are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Project Manager to join their innovative and client focussed team.

Ideally the candidate will have experience in large format retail, industrial or commercial new build projects from $10m to $50m+. The candidate can come from the client or head contractor side but will need to have some client side experience prior. If from the contractor side, strong Contract Administration, Project Engineering and Project Management Skillsets are sought after.

Our clients services cover all aspects of the development lifecycle including, Client Representation, Design Management, Project Management, Tenancy Co-ordination Services and Contract Superintendence. They offer end to end consulting, PM and advisory services to their clients.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering projects from scope development through construction to hand over, providing a high quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded. Candidates will need to have construction delivery experience however having some experience in the front end including planning, DA, CC, OC etc. would be ideal.

The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Experience of managing projects from scope development to hand over
  • A proven track record in managing the design development as well as the up-front regulatory approvals
  • Facilitating the Development Application Process
  • Develop documentation for the appointment of contractors through competitive tendering
  • Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
  • Be able to manage project expenditure and cash flow
  • Be able to interrogate construction programs
  • Be able to manage defect identification and rectification
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Monthly Report Preparation
  • Chairing and Minuting Client , Design, Contractor and Tenant Meetings
  • Facilitate Authority Approvals / Authority Approvals Monitoring
  • Implementation of the Company’s ISO Accredited Quality System
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or similar
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience ideally working on large format retail, industrial, warehousing and commercial projects
  • Ideally experience of working for a client side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
  • Strong project financial reporting skills
  • Strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills
  • A positive and "can do" attitude and extremely high client serving standards are essential
  • Ideally experience of working for a client side PM firm or a main contractor on D&C contracts in buildings
