Project Manager / Development Manager - Mixed Use Developer

• Property developer delivering a circa $1bn mixed use development with apartments
• Long-term pipeline of projects across residential, mixed-use projects & leisure projects
• The role would suit a Project Engineer or Project Manager from a head contractor
• Initially project delivery and would be trained in development management

Exciting opportunity to join a leading residential and mixed use developer with a long-term project pipeline, taking large-scale apartment and mixed-use developments from DA through to construction delivery across multiple stages.

Our client is a leading developer delivering multiple billion-dollar residential and mixed-use projects. Despite the scale of their developments, they operate with highly capable internal team, offering significant responsibility, autonomy, and exposure across the full development lifecycle.

Due to significant project activation and long-term pipeline growth, they are seeking a Project Manager to join the development team. This role has been created due to active delivery phases and will see you embedded within a major multi-stage master planned development.

Your immediate focus will be Stage 1, a 120+ apartment project currently under construction, with practical completion targeted for late 2027. This stage also includes a complex $8m civil and road works package and will be delivered alongside a head contractor and external superintendent.

In addition to Stage 1, you will have exposure across multiple future stages, including residential, mixed-use, retail, medical, and commercial components at various phases of design, approvals, and delivery.

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on, detail-driven, and actively involved in construction delivery, while also contributing to pre-construction and development activities.
  
Key Responsibilities:

Construction & Delivery (Primary):

• Developer-side construction delivery management
• Managing head contractor and superintendent
• Head contract administration (D&C exposure preferred)
• Design management during construction
• Quality control and defect management
• Complex stakeholder management, including interfaces with local schools, hospitals etc.

Pre-Construction & Development (Secondary):

• DA documentation coordination and consultant management
• Tender documentation coordination
• Design management across early and detailed stages
• Potential involvement in ECI processes
• Management of all project consultants (architectural, services, civil, etc.)

Skills & Experience:

• Background as a Project Manager, Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, or Development Manager
• Strong exposure to residential projects, ideally including mixed-use and civil components
• Experience managing consultants, particularly architects and building services engineers
• Demonstrated experience in design management and construction delivery
• Contract administration experience (D&C preferred but not essential)
• Ability to manage quality, defects, and detailed delivery issues
• Calm, professional approach to managing sensitive stakeholder environments
• Strong communication skills and collaborative mindset
