Construction Lawyer / Claims Consultant - Advisory

Join a specialist boutique construction advisory firm providing strategic commercial support across a wide range of clients and project sectors.

Our client is a Sydney-based boutique construction advisory firm. They work across a wide variety of sectors including Residential, Commercial, Health, Education, technical facilities etc. supporting projects ranging from smaller to $500m.

Their core focus is delivering expert commercial advice to developers, builders, subcontractors, insurers, and more.

Due to continued growth a Construction Lawyer / Claims Consultant or a Commercial Manager with similar experience is needed. This position can be tailored to suit either a full-time or part-time arrangement and offers the opportunity to work both on-site and remotely.

The role will see you delivering advisory services across the construction lifecycle—this includes contract negotiation and review, claims preparation and defence, dispute resolution, project reviews, and strategic commercial advice. You’ll be exposed to a diverse mix of clients and sectors, working alongside highly experienced professionals.

The ideal candidate will have:

• A degree in Construction Management, Law, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years' experience in claims, dispute resolution, contract administration, or commercial advisory
• Strong knowledge of Australian contracting frameworks (GC21, AS4000, D&C, ECI, etc.)
• Familiarity with Security of Payment legislation and its practical application
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical mindset and the ability to work independently or collaboratively
• A Master’s in Law or Construction (desirable but not essential)
