Services Coordinator - Fit Out/Refurb

Our client is an established commercial fit out and refurbishment Head Contractor experiencing continued growth. Partnering with Australia’s most innovative designers and prestigious clients, they deliver award-winning commercial workplace environments across a range of industries, with offices across the East Coast of Australia.
  
They are now seeking an experienced and motivated Services Coordinator to support the Services Manager and project teams in the coordination, documentation and delivery of building services across predominantly fit out & refurb focused projects, from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
  
This is a hands-on role providing exposure to all stages of the construction process. Working under the direction of the Services Manager, the Services Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring building services are delivered in line with contractual, quality, safety, design and regulatory requirements, while supporting the successful delivery of projects.
  
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  
Pre-Construction & Tender Support

• Supporting the Services Manager with coordination and review of building services documentation during tender and pre-construction phases
• Assisting with preparation, review and comparison of services subcontractor quotations, including identifying scope gaps, exclusions and clarifications
• Supporting communication between estimators, project teams, consultants and subcontractors regarding services scope and design information
• Assisting with peer reviews of services design development on design and construct projects, including attendance at design meetings and workshops
• Supporting identification of alternative services solutions, value opportunities and installation methodologies

Services Coordination & Site Support

• Supporting project teams in the coordination and delivery of building services works in line with approved documentation, quality standards and project programmes
• Assisting with coordination, review and management of services drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions and approvals
• Supporting monitoring of services installation on site and escalating coordination issues, quality concerns or non-conformances as required
• Assisting with recording and tracking services-related observations, defects and actions using project management systems such as Procore
• Supporting responses to services-related RFIs, variations and subcontractor queries

Commissioning, Handover & Close-Out

• Supporting the planning and coordination of services commissioning activities, including documentation collation and testing schedules
• Assisting with coordination of inspections, testing, certification and essential services documentation
• Supporting certification, handover and close-out of services components at project completion
• Assisting with identifying sequencing challenges, interface risks and common coordination issues

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related discipline highly preferred
• 3–5 years’ relevant post-graduate / post-qualification industry experience in a site-based, subcontractor, consultant or contractor environment
• Trade qualification in building services (Mechanical, Electrical, Fire or Hydraulic)
• Practical exposure to building services coordination, site delivery or support roles
• Experience coordinating services documentation including drawings, specifications, RFIs and technical submissions
• Exposure to services installation activities with understanding of sequencing, coordination and quality requirements
• Familiarity with construction project delivery
• Recent experience in a Services Coordinator role within fit out and refurbishment projects
