Project Manager - Tier 1 Fit-Out/Refurb - $5m+ Projects

Great opportunity to work on a blue-chip large scale high specification fit out project with a market leading construction company. Experience in hospitality projects as well undertaking tendering and methodologies, front end experience etc. a benefit.

A market leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their professional team in Melbourne.
  
Offering a range of services to their high end clients, the company specialises in fit-out and heavy refurb of Commercial/Office, Health, Education, Government, Hotels, Hospitality and Leisure sector projects. Incorporating a wide range of skillsets, their refurbishment work can have a large element of structural trades, heavy demolition, facades, steel and concrete (adding or removing levels etc).
  
As Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering safe, high quality and profitable construction projects from conversion, through to handover, finalization and review providing a high-quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
  
Projects range in value from smaller to $5m+ but can go higher.
  
Experience
5 - 10 years +
  
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Could be managing multiple smaller projects at various stages or a larger one
• Oversee financial management, planning and programming on all projects
• Conduct regular programme and internal project audits
• Manage dispute resolution between both clients and subcontractors
• Review and improve construction methodologies
• Supervise the recruitment, induction and development of project based staff, ensuring regular performance feedback occurs
• Ensure industrial relations issues are resolved and industrial arrangements are up to date
• Tendering for new projects

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or similar
• Minimum 5 - 10 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish with a 3rd, 2nd or top tier fit-out/refurb head contractor
• Proven leadership ability in building and motivating teams
• Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
• Strong project financial reporting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
