Project Coordinator - Tier 2 Contractor

Great opportunity to join a Tier 2 contractor with excellent presence in the Defence, industrial, marine and commercial sectors with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects.
  
A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Project Coordinator to join their growing business in Newcastle.
  
As Project Coordinator, you will need to have strong commercial acumen, contracts management, design management, OHS, programming / planning experience as well as running meetings with consultants and subcontractors to provide a high-quality service that will ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
  
They work across refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition, upgrades, HVAC etc. on buildings and civil works as well. Will be running projects from smaller up to $5m+ with some projects going to $20m+. Projects are generally Industrial, Defence or Commercial in nature, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage.
  
Years of experience:
2 - 4 years +
  
Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Project delivery from inception through to completion
• Ensure construction programmes are followed & deliver on project quality to programme
• Identify and manage construction risk through all projects, escalating issues when required
• Manage project expenditure and cash flow
• Management and achievement of external engineering design aspects of projects
• Design management
• Manage subcontractors on site
• Manage and maintain HSEQ requirements on the project
• Produce progress reports
• Deliver and manage client expectations

  
Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or similar
• Minimum 2 years+ experience in the successful delivery of projects from start to finish ideally with some civil, buildings, marine or utilities experience
• Detailed knowledge of local council and regulatory requirements / standards
• Strong planning and project financial reporting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite
• Construction Safety Induction (white) card
