Post Approvals Manager - Renewable Energy Infrastructure

• Key leadership role ensuring regulatory and contractual compliance for NSW’s energy future
• Oversee post-approval transitions for the a landmark Renewable Energy project
• Collaborative position interfacing with government, regulators, contractors, and communities

Lead the successful transition from approvals to delivery for a major infrastructure project, ensuring full compliance with planning conditions, regulatory frameworks, and project milestones.

Our client is seeking a Post Approvals Manager to take ownership of the planning and environmental post-approval phase for some of NSW’s most transformative renewable energy projects.

This role involves ensuring all Commonwealth and NSW planning and environmental approvals are adhered to, and that obligations under the Conditions of Approval are met in full. You’ll play a critical part in ensuring smooth transition from development to delivery phases, coordinating with contractors, planners, property, construction and stakeholder engagement teams.

This position requires exceptional stakeholder management skills, detailed knowledge of planning legislation, and the ability to manage timelines and compliance in a high-profile project environment.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Support the Project Delivery Director with post-approval management activities
• Transition approvals documentation into construction-ready environmental management documents
• Engage with regulators and stakeholders to communicate progress and address concerns
• Support public communication and community engagement material reviews
• Coordinate planning and environmental workstreams with technical and delivery teams
• Implement systems for ongoing compliance and reporting
• Ensure the Infrastructure Planner meets all obligations as proponent of the approvals
• Deliver all post-approval documentation in line with program and regulatory conditions
• Maintain governance, risk, and probity standards

Qualifications and Requirements:
Essential:
• Minimum 8 years’ experience in post-approval management on major infrastructure projects
• Proven leadership in environmental compliance and planning frameworks
Desirable:
• Experience with large scale energy transmission or renewable infrastructure projects
• Strong track record in regulatory liaison and stakeholder communication
• Background in government or regulated project environments
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, environmental planning or related field
• Comprehensive knowledge of both NSW and Commonwealth planning systems
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex post-approval transitions
• High-level problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
