Mine Superintendent – Open Pit Mining (Mid West WA)

Our client, a global leader in the industrial minerals sector, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Mine Superintendent to support and lead the daily execution of open pit mining operations at their flagship site in Western Australia’s Mid West.
Working closely with the Site Manager, you’ll ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and strong team performance.
About the Role
As Mine Superintendent, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day mining operations—ensuring safe production, coordination of mining activities, and effective people and contractor management. Your leadership will directly contribute to maintaining the site's reputation for operational excellence and safety-first culture.
This position is ideally residential in the Kalbarri/Mid West region, offering a balanced lifestyle and tight-knit community. FIFO or DIDO options will also be considered on an 8:6 roster.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily mine production activities, ensuring compliance with mine plan and safety protocols
- Supervise mining crews and contractors to deliver on schedule and quality expectations
- Monitor production KPIs and report on performance, progress, and risks
- Drive a safety-first approach, actively promoting hazard awareness and safe work practices
- Support planning, scheduling, and coordination of mining operations with technical and maintenance teams
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across mining efficiency, safety, and cost control
- Proven experience in a Mine Superintendent or senior production leadership role in open pit operations
- Strong knowledge of surface mining practices and statutory obligations
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor crews in a dynamic environment
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments and contractors
- Commitment to safety, team development, and operational excellence
- Relevant qualifications in Mining Engineering or related field preferred
