HSE Advisor - Developer Builder - $300m+ Projects

Lead and embed a strong safety culture across large-scale construction projects for a leading Sydney property developer builder.
  
Our client is a leading Sydney-based property development and construction group delivering high-quality residential, mixed-use and build-to-rent projects that shape great urban communities.
  
With a growing construction pipeline across NSW, they are seeking an experienced and proactive HSE Advisor to lead and manage workplace health and safety across its construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and continuous improvement across all sites.
  
Reporting to senior management and working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and Foremen, you will drive a strong safety culture, provide hands-on site support and ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company systems and best practice.
  
Years of Experience:
5+ years (construction WHS experience)
  
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
WHS Leadership & Culture

• Driving a proactive, positive safety culture across all construction sites
• Providing leadership, coaching and guidance to site and project teams
• Promoting safety awareness, accountability and continuous improvement

Compliance, Systems & Risk Management

• Developing, implementing and maintaining WHS policies, procedures and systems
• Ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards
• Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments
• Managing incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions

Site Support & Training

• Providing hands-on WHS support across multiple active construction sites
• Delivering inductions, toolbox talks and safety training programs
• Supporting site teams with Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), JHAs and permits

Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement

• Preparing WHS reports, safety statistics and performance insights
• Liaising with regulators, consultants and external stakeholders as required
• Working closely with project teams to integrate safety into construction planning

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or a related discipline
• 5+ years’ experience in a Safety Manager or Senior Safety Advisor role
• Strong background in residential and/or mixed-use construction
• In-depth knowledge of WHS legislation and construction safety systems
• Proven experience implementing and improving WHS management systems
• Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills
• Ability to manage multiple sites and priorities
• White Card required
• Sydney construction experience essential
